I’m working on a customer Bunny Comforter plushie for a friend of mine and I wanted to give some thoughts on it.
I absolutely enjoyed making this plushie! The pattern was very well written! Had so many instructional videos and pictures.
I used the paid pattern by Katymimitoys which I found on Etsy, linked below for you if you want to also try it.
My friend really liked the style of this pattern with its empty body which makes it a great snuggler. Perfect for a babyshower gift 🙂
My first thoughts on this pattern were that it has an Ok item description. The description gave me the basics : yarn needed, hook size and approx. size of finished plushie. Except that when I bought the pattern, it turned out to need quite a few more things.
So many patterns I look at, paid or not, don’t include these! It’s such a pain when you are trying to see if you already have the stuff on hand. I find this to be a HUGE turnoff when it’s a wearable pattern.
Okay let’s get into the meat of this pattern!
Pros:
Cons:
- Well written
- Full list of materials needed
- Great photos & Videos for hard steps
- Stitch counts per round
- AMAZING sculpting & embroider instructions
- Not all steps written with step/round #
- Pattern description on purchase is incorrect
- Moderate amount of sewing
When you first get the pattern it has everything listed that you will need. And I mean EVERYTHING! Yarn by grams & meters, hook size, safety eyes, just everything.
The designer also includes a full list of abbreviations for all stitches used! This one seems like a no brainer. But I have had a lot of patterns where they only tell you what the special stitch is or they use symbols instead of abbreviations.
Now to the actual pattern!
First off it is very well written, but you have to read every little paragraph. The little paragraphs are NOT tips. They are part of the steps and include crucial details to make this pattern work.
This is a slow go pattern in my book, as in you have to go slow to make sure you don’t miss any of the tiny details. This is both a PRO & a CON in my book as the crucial steps should be obvious not hidden in a side note.
While some of the steps are harder to understand, the designer does a great job between pictures and YouTube videos.
This pattern has stitch counts on every round as well which is AMAZING! These are great to make sure you not skipping or adding any extra steps.
Building/sewing the pattern!
The main thing I noticed is the head is a lot of the work. You have shaping & embroidery on it which make it go form a peanut to bunny. The instructions are spot on! If you follow the pictures or the YouTube the shape comes out perfect.

Honestly I was really worried about this part, many patterns do not do a good shop with it. The designer not only met my expectations they went above and beyond!
Once you’ve gotten through the head the rest is a breeze as far a crocheting and then stitching the pieces together. Them arms & legs are no sew so you are really only sewing 3 pieces.
This pattern was probably one of the best I have had the pleasure to crochet. Between how well written it is to the amount of help the designer provides this was an amazing pattern.
While the pattern name may say masterclass; you definitely don’t need to be a pro. I would say this is an intermediate pattern simply for the face sculpting.
Happy Crocheting!
